Wang Xiliang was born in Jingdezhen in February 1922, whose ancestral home was Yixian County, Anhui Province. He was born into a "ceramic family". When he was young, he learned porcelain painting from his uncle Wang Dafan, a famous ceramic artist in Jingdezhen who was the founder of "Eight Friends of Mount Zhu". Its biography is included in the "Chinese fine arts dictionary" and "Chinese contemporary arts and crafts celebrity dictionary".
Wang Xiliang Ceramic Arts and Crafts family is the most representative ceramic family in Jingdezhen today, which condensed the development process of Jingdezhen Ceramic Arts and Crafts in the 20th century. When Wang Xiliang was young, he learned to paint porcelain paintings with his uncle Wang Dafan, one of the "Eight Friends of Pearl Mountain". In the 1950s, he was selected into the Ceramic Research Institute of the Ministry of Light Industry together with Wang Bu and other porcelain painting masters.
